Self-transfer flights

“Self-transfer” refers to a specific type of separate ticket which combines of two or more flights. It results in a lower price, but comes with its own rules and restrictions.

Example: a direct ticket from New York to Prague may be more expensive than two separate tickets from New York to Amsterdam and Amsterdam to Prague.

Transfer between different airport terminals

At some large airports, you might also need to travel to a different terminal. If they are not directly connected, you will need to exit the visa-free zone and go through immigration and customs again.
